Furse – Vintage British Theatre Fresnel Spotlight – Unique Floor Lamp Designed by Archivio51 An extraordinary one-of-a-kind industrial floor lamp, exclusively conceived, designed and handcrafted by Archivio51, combining an authentic vintage British Furse theatrical spotlight with a beautifully polished metal pedestal recovered from a vintage bistro table. This unique creation transforms two original vintage elements into a striking sculptural lighting piece, celebrating British theatrical heritage, industrial aesthetics and creative upcycling. An exclusive Archivio51 design, individually created and assembled by the seller. Not a mass-produced item, but a truly unique piece. British Theatrical Heritage The original spotlight was manufactured by Furse Theatre Products, a historic British company based in Nottingham, England, renowned for its professional stage-lighting equipment. Dating approximately from the 1950s–1970s, most likely the 1960s, this authentic theatrical spotlight retains its distinctive cylindrical metal housing and beautiful original turquoise-blue hammered factory finish. Its naturally aged surface displays an attractive patina, minor scratches and traces of oxidation, reflecting decades of history. The spotlight preserves several characteristic features of traditional professional theatre lighting: Original oval Furse manufacturer's badge. Original turquoise-blue hammered paintwork, never repainted. Concentric Fresnel glass lens. Robust cylindrical metal housing. Adjustable black metal mounting bracket. Rear hinged access panel. Internal ceramic lamp holder and reflector. Sliding focus adjustment mechanism. These original details contribute to its historical authenticity and distinctive industrial character. Exclusively Designed and Created by Archivio51 This remarkable floor lamp was entirely conceived, designed and assembled by Archivio51, the professional vintage and design seller offering this piece for auction. The creative project involved selecting an authentic British theatrical spotlight and combining it with a substantial polished metal pedestal, originally part of a vintage bistro table. The elegant four-foot base provides stability, while the polished metal column creates a beautiful contrast with the original turquoise-blue spotlight. The carefully balanced proportions transform the original technical equipment into a sculptural floor lamp with a strong architectural presence. The spotlight has been adapted for decorative domestic use with a new electrical cable, inline switch and plug, operating on 220V. The lamp has been tested and is fully functional. Its adjustable mounting bracket allows the direction of the light to be changed, creating different lighting effects. This is a unique Archivio51 creation, designed and assembled as a single piece. No identical examples have been produced.
