The glasses belong to one of the first sets produced by Val Saint Lambert. The stem of the glass also bears a resemblance to the "Cylindrique" of the sister company Baccarat / Saint Louis, The glasses are mouth-blown in a goblet shape, after which hand-engraved loops and lines were added. The glasses are made of glass into which a portion of pure crystal was added; this was common in the 19th century to give the glasses a nicer luster. Also, the purity levels were not as high as today.
