Opaline Florence - Grand Vase Pop Art / Space Age in blown glass - Italy, c. 1970 Splendid vintage vase in opaline polychrome glass, made in Italy in the Florence / Empoli region during the 1970s. This iconic piece of Space Age design and Pop Art is distinguished by its swirling marbled decoration with dynamic shades of turquoise blue, chocolate brown and white. Entirely mouth-blown, its slender silhouette with a flared neck and a bulbous base is typical of productions attributed to Carlo Moretti. The vase still bears its original red and gold label in perfect condition: “BT V.B.
