Vatican Divisional Series 2026 Leo XIV FDC Fior di conio 9 denominations (from 1 cent to 2 euros + 5 euro bimetallic) Official coins in the official box The new euro coin series from the Vatican, the first issued during the pontificate of Pope Leo XIV, is directly inspired by the pontiff's coat of arms, reproduced on the cover with a chalky finish and a relief on an ivory background. A deep blue highlights the inscriptions and the key graphic elements, evoking the colors of the two heraldic fields of the papal shield. This same color combination will become even more prominent in the new design of the case that will accompany future minting issues. This is not merely an aesthetic choice, but a genuine homage and a direct reference to the new pontificate. The coins contained in the case feature an unprecedented alternation between the portrait of the Pope and the papal shield: the portrait appears on the higher denominations, while the shield appears on the lower ones, creating a graphic concept never seen before in the Vatican coin series history. The 2-euro coin also incorporates the distinctive elements of Pope Leo XIV’s coat of arms: the fleur-de-lis, a symbol of purity and Marian devotion, and the heart aflame pierced by an arrow over an open book, representing Augustinian spirituality and the power of God’s Word to transform the human heart. The 5-euro coin, included in this set, represents renunciation of material possessions, a decisive moment in St. Francis’s conversion and a true manifesto of Franciscan spirituality: the abandonment of all earthly wealth, detachment from the past, and absolute trust in God. Artists and sculptors: Daniela Fusco (5 euros); Daniela Longo (2 euros, 1 euro, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 cent). Engravers: Silvia Ciucci (5 euros); Emanuele Ferretti (2 euros); Marta Bonifacio (1 euro); Antonio Vecchio (50 cents); Silvia Petrassi (20 cents); Annalisa Masini (10 cents); Valerio de Seta (5 cents); Emanuele Ferretti (2 cents); Antonio Vecchio (1 cent).
