Velox - Coffee maker - Brass

Amazing! The item up for auction is an antique and rare espresso coffee maker from the first half of the 20th century, nickel-plated brass with bakelite handles, produced in Italy between the 1920s and 1930s, with its original label on the base of the related manufacturing mark “Velox.” Specifically, it is a rare domestic-use electric espresso machine of that era and the most iconic and historic model protected by the famous “Umberto Malagò - Ferrara Patent,” representing a fundamental piece of the history of industrial design and of the Italian espresso tradition, and becoming a highly sought-after collectible by vintage-object enthusiasts. The machine stands out for its ingenious technical configuration with the dispensing group and filter placed sideways, thermally isolated from the central boiler body. This vintage feature prevented the ground coffee from overheating before extraction, ensuring impeccable aroma. The item is a high-quality, vintage tool that today exhibits a fascinating minimalist industrial design and is highly decorative, testifying to past crafts, coming from a private collection. The coffee maker is visually intact and remains very sturdy, in good overall aesthetic condition with slight signs of wear that do not detract from its beauty but rather attest to its age; it has never been restored and retains its original period patina. The coffee maker has not been tested for safety reasons and is being offered at auction as a splendid collectible piece, display item, or period modernia. (Note: the power cord is not present). Its dimensions are 25 x 23 x 17 cm, and it weighs 1.2 kg. Its size makes it easily placeable in any environment, providing a wonderful, essential scenographic effect in pure industrial style. Unique and exclusive, therefore destined for collectors of antique kitchen equipment or design objects, or for decorating bar counters, cafes, shops, and industrial settings, or simply to display on a cabinet, display case, or glass-fronted cabinet as a true sculpture or work of art recalling past crafts—perfect for any collection or decorative display. Photos are an integral part of the description. Object seen and liked, with photographic documentation, and in its current condition, always documented by photos.
