Verre dépoli ou givré émaillé - Mauclet Raymond - Vase - Hand-blown glass

Beautiful Art Deco glass ball vase – Signed R. Mauclet – Circa 1925 General description: Authentic vase from the Art Deco period (about 100 years) in a ball shape made of blown glass, heavy and substantial. The body of the piece is crafted in smoked glass, matte via careful sand-blasting, offering a superb satin and velvety appearance that beautifully captures the light. It features a rich hand-painted, polychrome, high-relief floral decoration (granite/textured enamel), depicting large steel-blue stylized flowers with orange centers, complemented by autumn-toned foliage. The flared neck is outlined by a black, graphic liseré typical of the era. The piece is signed on the side “R. Mauclet” in gray enamel, with a perfectly clear and catalogued signature. For his creations, Raymond Mauclet’s decoration workshop often partnered with productions by famous master glassmakers of the time, such as Leune or Legras, who supplied his high-quality rough glass bases. Detailed condition analysis: The object has undergone careful examination and is in very good centenary condition for daily use: • UV Test: A full pass under ultraviolet light confirms the complete absence of modern restoration, makeup, or regluing. The vase is 100% original (see photo under UV light). • The neck: The structure is perfectly intact. There is a very slight surface wear of the era’s black color on the liseré. An infinitesimal micro-detail is present on the upper edge: it is so discreet that it is barely detectable to the touch (see close-up in the dedicated photo). • The enameled decoration: The relief enamel is magnificent and very well preserved. The minor variations and material losses visible at the base of the petals are original and related to the artisanal firing in a workshop a century ago. As the vase is curved, its most bulging part shows no wear from rubbing or handling. Physical characteristics: • Height: 22 cm • Weight: 1.681 kg • Maximum circumference: ~65 cm • Origin: France (Paris) Shipping & Delivery: • Ultra-secure and professional shipping. • The vase will benefit from highly protected packaging (double carton, thick bubble wrap, and reinforced padding) specifically adapted for fragile art glass to ensure perfect receipt.
