Art Deco geometric vase – emerald green & gold – attributed to Verreries Doyen – ca. 1930 A striking, elegant and high-quality Art Deco glass vase from the 1930s. The vase is rendered in a deep, clear emerald-green glass tone. Given the form language and the specific color, the vase is very likely to be attributed to the well-known Belgian Verreries Doyen (Havré-Ville), possibly decorated in an external Brussels workshop that at that period often worked with Doyen’s blanks. The design excels in texture and contrast. The upper portion features a geometric pattern of squares in a matte, sand-blasted (frosted) finish, framed by refined gold lines. The base shows a crisp pattern of horizontal, shiny gold bands. The vase on the front still bears its original paper label with the French text "Peint Main", which testifies to the authentic handiwork with which the gold gilt was applied. The vase is in a beautiful, authentic vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or deep scratches in the glass. The hand-painted goldwork shows the normal, light signs of wear and aging for its age (particularly on the inside of the upper rim and at a few subtle spots on the body, see the detail photos).
