Charles Schneider, a master of French Art Deco glass. After he founded the glassworks Schneider in 1917 together with his brother Ernest, Charles launched two iconic lines: Le Verre Français and Schneider. These collections, produced between 1918 and 1933, showcased his inventive spirit and technical genius. The Schneider line, of which this coupe is an example, focused on blown glass with vibrant colors and flowing forms, emphasizing artistic spontaneity and craftsmanship. Techniques included hot-working, overlaps, and internal coloring, producing more spontaneous, expressive pieces. In contrast to the natural themes of Le Verre Français, the Schneider line leaned toward abstract and geometric forms, often with a more modernist aesthetic.
