This brooch is refreshing in summer and a celebration in winter. More than three carats of diamonds and an aquamarine of excellent colour are combined to create an arrangement full of lightness. The aquamarine forms the centre of the design. An oval ring of diamonds staggered in size curves upwards over the aquamarine, almost crowning it like white spray on the waves of the Caribbean. Further diamonds are set towards the bottom. They, too, are staggered in size and set together in a flexible manner, allowing the three rows to sway softly and elegantly. All gemstones are set in white gold. The workmanship and the design, which focuses entirely on the presentation of the gemstones, allow us to date the brooch to the 1960s. Unusually, the brooch is designed as a clip. With two pins, it holds securely on somewhat heavier fabrics, such as the lapels of a coat or the lapel of a blazer. We discovered the brooch in Vienna. Unfortunately, it bears no hallmarks that could provide information about where it was originally made. An independent expert report on the quality of the materials is enclosed with the brooch.
