Original Vitra Organic Conference Chair – Eames & Saarinen A guaranteed original Vitra Organic Conference Chair, an absolute masterpiece and icon of mid-century modern design. This world-famous design was created in 1940 by the legendary design duo Charles Eames & Eero Saarinen for the prestigious competition 'Organic Design in Home Furnishings' of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. Model & Configuration This is the highly sought-after 'Conference' version. Thanks to the specific factory height, this variant is multifunctional: ideal as a luxurious, generous dining chair or as a comfortable eyecatcher behind a desk or meeting table. Brand / Manufacturer: Vitra (with original metal authenticity label under the seat) Designers: Charles Eames & Eero Saarinen Upholstery: High-quality, heathered wool fabric in a deep, atmospheric aubergine/red-brown shade Base: Slim, elegantly tapering legs of black-stained ash wood Exact measurements (measured): Total height: 83.5 cm Total width: 74 cm Seat depth: ~50 cm Seat height (unloaded): ~44–45 cm (comfortably sinks to an effective 42 cm seated height under load) Condition The chair is structurally in excellent and sturdy condition with signs of use. The authentic wooden legs show only minimal, superficial signs of use appropriate to age and are equipped with the original floor gliders. The upholstery is completely intact, shows slight, normal creasing on the seat surface and is free of holes or major damage. 100% original craftsmanship from Vitra. Delivery & Transport To ensure the high-quality and perfect condition of this design icon, the chair is not shipped by mail. You are welcome to pick up the chair by appointment in Wolfheze. If you are not able to come yourself, of course we are happy to assist with handover to a furniture courier of your choosing.
