Walking stick - .925 silver

Elegant and unique antique walking cane with a solid sterling silver handle in the shape of an Achilles heel, in a modernist (Art Nouveau) style with organic-vegetal inspiration. It features a carefully carved ebony wood shaft, full of details with bone inlays in diamond and ring shapes. It is a beautiful piece that has been restored at the junction of the grip and the shaft (see photographs) for its beauty and age, this restoration not detracting from its value and aimed at keeping it functional. This antique walking cane dates chronologically from the late 19th to the early 20th century (approximately 1880–1920) and would have been part of collectible or etiquette walking canes of the Victorian and Edwardian era. It is an exceedingly rare and/or scarce cane, with no other identical or similar example on the market, hence its rarity and peculiarity. Dimensions Total: 88.5 cm (including the handle) Handle dimensions: 7.5 x 8.2 cm Weight of the Cane: 423 g MATERIAL: Wood and Silver CONDITION: Very good condition – barely used. ESTIMATED PERIOD: 1880-1920
