Wall clock - Metal - 1750-1800 - French Revolution period

Comtoise clock with a convex dial from the 1790–1800 period. An attractive Comtoise clock featuring a rare brass casting from the French Revolutionary era. The movement boasts fine details; please refer to the photos. The clock features a passing strike on the half-hour and the characteristic French Comtoise striking mechanism on the hour. It has a convex enamel dial in fairly good condition (some surface damage in the centre) which is signed "Navand a Morez" on the back. The clock has beautiful pierced steel hands. The clock is in working order and has recently been cleaned. It comes with a winding key, mounting bracket, and weights. Please note: transport can affect the working of a mechanical clock. Restarting a mechanical clock can also affect the pendulum swing (causing irregular ticking). Adjusting this requires some expertise. The clock can also be collected in Westerbork, the Netherlands. Dimensions: Height = 37 cm Width = 24 cm Depth = 16 cm
