Wall lamp (2) - Brass - Louis XVI style

Pair of wall sconces in the Louis XVI style, made of gilded brass, from the first half of the 20th century, inspired by the elegant sobriety and neoclassical refinement characteristic of Louis XVI’s reign. Each piece features a single-light arm, articulated by a horizontal support with clean lines that connects to an oval-shaped molded wall plate. The arm holds a lamp-holder in the form of a candle, accompanied by a circular dish that evokes the old droppers used in period lighting. The ornamentation concentrates on the harmony of proportions and the delicate turning of the descending shaft, whose elongated, fluted forms recall the classical motifs highly valued by French neoclassical taste. The absence of exuberant decoration enhances the purity of the lines, one of the most distinctive features of the Louis XVI style, where balanced geometry and inspiration from Antiquity replace the excesses of the preceding Rococo. The warm gilded brass finish provides luminosity and decorative presence, while the light patina and traces of time visible on the surface attest to its age and authenticity. This pair of sconces is particularly suitable for classical, neoclassical, or eclectic interiors, where they can bring a touch of French elegance and ambient lighting of distinguished character. Its restrained and timeless design allows them to be integrated in living rooms and bedrooms as well as in entryways or circulation areas, combining functionality and decorative value with great versatility. Certified shipping and careful packaging.
