Wall mirror - Wood - Antique mirror

Elegant Neapolitan dresser mirror from the second half of the 18th century, entirely carved, inlaid and gilded with gold leaf. The mirror presents itself as a triumph of carved wood with a motion that develops from bottom to top where one can appreciate all its refinement. The crest is a sequence of volutes, rocailles, comb shells and vegetal clusters. Two small feet featuring a rocaille motif contribute to the elegance and refinement of this splendid object. The mirror is in mercury-silvered glass and is coeval with the wooden frame. Provenance: Naples (1740/50) Overall Condition: Excellent Measurements: 58 x 113 cm.
