Wall sconce (2) - Wood - Polychrome wood torchiere

Pair of wall torches with a single light in polychrome carved, turned, and shaped wood. Hand-applied gold leaf work, presenting a mature patina of age. The base ends with a bulbous, fluted finial that is entirely gilded, from which the turned central body rises and is ivory-lacquered. The top of the torchiere culminates in a shaped lamp-holder plate, prepared to house the bulb. The structures are completed by small crescent-shaped shades in pale cream stretched fabric, finished along the perimeter with a gold-passamaneria trim. This type of lampshade, typical of antique torches in the Louis XVI style, allows light to reflect toward the wall, creating soft, ambient, scenographic lighting. The torches are presented in excellent overall condition. The wooden structure is perfectly solid and free of structural defects; the pieces are already electrified with visible external wiring, ready to be used.
