Wall shelf unit - Wood - 1950s solid wood carved phone shelf.

1950s solid hardwood carved phone shelf – pierced floral decoration A small work of wood art, capable of transforming a daily-use object into a piece of furniture full of character. This particular 1950s phone shelf is distinguished by its elaborate pierced decoration: flowers, leaves and scrolls intertwine along the back panel and the lower part, creating a refined play of positives and negatives. The centerpiece of the composition is the carved telephone in wood, complete with handset and numbered dial, an unusual detail that immediately recalls the original function of the piece. The warm tones and the wood grain enhance the reliefs of the workmanship. The supporting surface is complemented by a small compartment underneath, originally meant to house the telephone directory and still practical today for keeping letters or small objects. Fascinating in an entryway, a study, or a corner dedicated to modern vintage design, it can be enhanced with an antique phone or used as a decorative shelf. Dimensions: height 51 cm, width 32 cm, depth 22 cm. The photographs of the item are an integral part of the description and allow appreciating the details and the signs of time. The telephone and directory shown in the staged image are for illustrative purposes only and are not included in the sale. Careful packaging and traceable shipping in Europe.
