Alle Auktionen / Schmuck und Edelsteine / Warm, Sparkling “Trilogy” Ring with Vintage Diamonds in Yellow Gold

“Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the passing on of the flame.” The famous symphonist Gustav Mahler (1860–1911) already knew this. This quote applies particularly well to this modern ring, as its romantic symbolism follows a centuries-old tradition. This ring was created on our commission and is a beautiful example of the enduring legacy of a classic design that, at the same time, does not deny the era in which it was created. The understated, modern ring band, crafted from high-karat yellow gold, features three sparkling brilliant-cut diamonds with a total weight of 1.01 carats, with a larger center stone flanked by two smaller brilliant-cut diamonds. The center stone shines in white (H), while the smaller diamonds to its right and left sparkle in L ans M colour. The tinted colour of the side stones draws attention to the white center stone. The three natural diamonds feature small inclusions that attest to their natural origin. The ring’s design concept is rooted in the tradition of trilogy rings. Here, the number of gemstones is meant to symbolize the shared past, present, and future. With its emphasis on the center, the ring thus becomes a “Carpe Diem” in the form of jewellery. All three diamonds are vintage diamonds from the 1970s. They were part of a brooch that we were able to acquire along with other jewellery, which, unfortunately, could no longer be repaired. Thanks to its shape and its symbolic meaning, our ring makes the perfect engagement ring or a gift of love.
