XL TEKTITE -impact of METEORITE- VIETNAM

Tectites (from the Greek tektos, fused) are natural glass objects that formed by the impact of large meteorites on the Earth's surface. Tectites are the driest minerals known, with an average water content of 0.005%. This is very rare, since most of the craters where tectites formed were underwater prior to impact. Zircon partially melted has also been found inside some tectites. This, along with the water content, suggests tectites formed under very high temperatures and pressures (similar to those needed to form diamonds). Indochinites, like the one in this lot, formed from the impact of a large meteorite about 800,000 years ago, according to the latest studies. The crash was brutal, so molten material covered 10% of the Earth's surface, with indochinites even found in Antarctica. The specimen in this lot was found in Vietnam, it is natural and of good size, with a natural sculptural form, presenting very beautiful and unusual regmaglypts. In short, a specimen with all these qualities highly valued by collectors. Do not miss this opportunity. We are members of the leading international associations related to meteorites, so we guarantee lifetime authenticity of all our meteorites and jewelry made from this material.
