Caviar box with a torn Hermes label painted in trompe l'oeil and caviar and gold rhinestones by XTC. This is number 1/8 that had not been released for sale, thus the last in the series, as all the other numbers are sold. Original sculpture designed and hand-finished by the Artist XTC using an antique caviar tin, acrylic paints and varnishes, and resins. It is a genuine 1000g reclaimed caviar box with a torn Hermes label effect, entirely hand-painted (no sticker!). And fake caviar with gold rhinestones. The lid is not fixed so you can present the work in different ways: box open or closed with the lid resting on its side, up to you to modify the piece according to your desires. The artwork is displayed on a black 10 mm-thick plexiglass (PMMA, Perspex) base for a glossy, flawless finish. Signed and numbered out of 8 + 4EA on the base, Certificate of Authenticity (COA) included. (The shipped copy is not necessarily the same as the photo.) Careful, tracked shipping. Born in 1978 in central France, XTC shaped his artistic universe through an interest in Design, Pop Art, and more recently Street Art. This visual exploration became a passion that had to be realized. XTC defines himself as a self-taught visual artist, aligned with the Pop Art movement, through the appropriation of contemporary consumer goods. His creativity is expressed through bold staging of icons of popular consumption, which he makes collide with the world of luxury and Street Art, further blurring the already tenuous boundaries between these worlds. He expresses his art through sculpture, blending painting with all kinds of plastics and sometimes mineral materials. All potential defects or imperfections are an integral part of the work; the caviar box is reclaimed and bears signs of use and opening.
