Yamazaki 1993 The Owner's Cask no. 3N70037 - Suntory - b. 2007 - 700ml

Yamazaki 1993 "The Owner's Cask" – Barrel Cask Selection Overview This 1993 vintage Yamazaki is a standout example from "The Owner's Cask" series, showcasing the transformative power of a smaller Barrel maturation. While many casks in this series utilized Hogsheads, this selection used a standard Barrel, which provides a higher wood-to-liquid contact ratio, accelerating the development of those classic Yamazaki honey and vanilla notes. Distilled: 1993 • Bottled: 2007 • Age: 14 Years • Cask Type: Barrel • Cask Number: 3N70037 • ABV: 57% • Cellar: Ohmi Aging Cellar What Makes This Bottle Special? • High ABV (57%): At 57%, this is a particularly high-proof bottling for a 14-year-old Yamazaki. This "powerhouse" ABV ensures that the rich, oily texture of the 1993 distillate is preserved, offering an intense explosion of flavor that can handle a few drops of water to reveal hidden floral layers. • The "Blank" Owner Name: Unlike the corporate or retail selections (like Kawachiya or Kokuyo), this bottle was a private individual purchase. These are often considered "pure" distillery expressions because they were selected by private connoisseurs purely for the quality of the liquid, without a specific commercial flavor profile in mind. • 1993 Vintage Consistency: The early 90s are widely regarded as a "Golden Era" for Yamazaki production. This specific cask, 3N70037, comes from the Ohmi Aging Cellar, which is favored for its ability to produce mellow, well-integrated whiskies even at high cask strengths. Finding a 1993 Yamazaki at 57% ABV is becoming increasingly difficult. This bottle is a "purist’s" choice—no corporate branding, just high-proof, single-cask Yamazaki spirit at its most transparent and powerful. The big and bold 1993 is an homage to Japan’s golden 90ies era when it was a the peak of its economic power. Ships from Singapore with DHL Express.
