With a vibrant and expressive aesthetic, Yamila Velázquez manages to fuse classical influences with a modern language, yielding versatile, fresh, and deeply evocative works. The pictorial texture of her images, masterful use of color, and emotionally balanced composition position her work as a contemporary artistic proposal of high aesthetic value. This extraordinary art diptych reinterprets two of the most iconic figures in pop culture, Spider-Man and Superman, through the lens of the ancient Japanese technique of Kintsugi. By presenting the superheroes in the form of classical marble and terracotta sculptures, the work introduces meticulously repaired cracks with gold, transforming their vulnerabilities into a new source of strength and beauty. Kintsugi, which values the history of an object and celebrates its scars, finds in these figures of power a powerful contrast: the inherent fragility even in the strongest, and the resilience that arises from overcoming adversity. This juxtaposition of Eastern cultural heritage with Western modern myth creates a work of philosophical depth and unique visual appeal, perfect for a collection that values the intersection of tradition and contemporaneity."} } }{
