YVES KLEIN. "Monochrome und Feuer (Triptych).". Complete set of 3 colour plates in blue, pink and gold on card (2 screenprinted and one coated with gold foil, with gold leaf applied by the artist), 1961. Published by the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum, Krefeld, on the occasion of the same-titled exhibition at the Museum Haus Lange, Krefeld, January 14-February 26, 1961. With the original printed museum brochure with numerous color and black and white illustrations. Each S. 32.0 x 23.0 cm, printed to the sheet edges. Fleck/Raymond 171. "Monochrome und Feuer" was the only retrospective held for Klein during his lifetime, and the largest ever organized for the artist to date. It featured architecture drawings, an "immaterial" space, his "Mur de Feu", as well as examples of his iconic blue, pink and gold monochromes. Primarily working with the signature blue pigment throughout his career (known as International Klein Blue or IKB), Klein added these other two colors to his oeuvre, the pink and gold, around the time of the exhibition, held just a year prior to his death.
