About the artist: Coming from the graffiti scene, Zoia develops a visual language based on sedimentation, nourished by a practice liberated from the constraints of seduction. Painting, conceived as a palimpsest, is organized according to a system of strata where overwriting, erasures and reworkings become the very conditions of the image. This approach preserves from graffiti the primacy of gesture and its capacity to leave dissonance subsist. Between the raw energy of graffiti, color as a vector of contrast, and the emotional force of figuration, her works build a controlled tension between spontaneity and composition.
