Ancient Roman

Roman bronze signet ring with archer engraving Roman era, 2nd–4th centuries AD Bronze. An interesting bronze signet ring with an oval intaglio carved in relief, decorated with the depiction of an archer. The composition shows a schematic yet expressive figure, resolved with notable linear strength, typical of ancient small glyptic art. A piece of great iconographic interest, both for its function as a personal seal as well as for the presence of a warrior and hunting motif that is very characteristic of the classical repertoire.
